Where are we now and what do we know to be true?

Where are we now and what do we know to be true? Reality check time.

Our source of truth and hope.

Where are we now? On the eve of a national election in America, folks are anxious.

Where are we now? In our families, we have much that concerns us.

Where are we now? According to Scripture, we are in the in-between . . . in between life on this earth and the eternal world of Heaven!

We believers in the Lord Jesus Christ know this is really not our home… we are just passing through, Heaven awaits. Of all people, we ought to be people of great hope. And yet, we go in our own strength so often, not walking in the power that is meant to be ours in Christ. The unlimited grace of God in our daily lives and the promise of heaven give us hope and keep us looking forward, while we live in this oft-so-trying world that is all we know.

Where are we now? Since several new people added to our Morning Briefings family this week...welcome! These messages are drawn from the pages of Scripture, intended to be truth telling and life giving. [More at the bottom]

God would have you know the following truths from his Word, to comprehend the difference these truths make to who you are, how much you mean to God, and how you can trust him.

When I think of God addressing me, he usually calls me "Child", so . . .

Child, take these things to heart:

~I created you in My image -

God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Genesis 1.27

~I know every detail about you because I planned all of them.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb . . .

My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret . . .

Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139.13-16

~I loved you first.

John explained it so simply, We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4.19

~Nothing can separate you from My love for you.

Look how Paul expressed this! For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8.38-39

~As my child, one day you will see me face-to-face.

Revelation 22.4

~If you sin, I will forgive you . . .

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1.9

~I take great delight in you.

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.

He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you,

but will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3.17

~Trust Me. If you do, I will show you the way you should go.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Prov. 3.5-6

~There will be trouble in this world, but trust Me. Look at these words of Jesus: I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16.33

~I will give you the strength you need.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41.10

~I am coming again … for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. John 14.3

~My Word will show you the way you should go.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119.105

What do we know to be true, Friends? God knows exactly where each of us finds ourselves, what we are facing and what we need. He is not just our source of strength, but also hope and peace and joy.

Where are we now in our Morning Briefings? Walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ rendered to us by the gospel writer, Luke. We learn so much from Jesus' life, teaching, love and miracles and we are realizing that the written details reveal a lot about our lives as well--how we ought to live and love. As we open Luke chapter 5, we will be standing at the shore of the Sea of Galilee, where the water laps onto the northern shore. . . watching and learning, considering the call of Jesus.

Be encouraged, Friends.

With love,

Christine
